Central Heating Maintenance
How can I help to keep my central heating system clean.?
A clean central heating system will help keep your boiler
working more efficiently and for longer than one thats is not treated. New boilers and system alterations can dislodge accumulated
debris which may than gather in the boilers heat exchanger resulting in system noise, reduced efficiency and in severe cases
boiler failure.
An increasing number
of systems are found to contain corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems are currently apparent.
Modern high efficiency, condensing boilers are more susceptible to circulation
problems caused by corrosion and debris in the system.
Boiler manufacturers insist on all heating systems are flushed immediately before installing a new boiler to prevent possible
future problems. Failure to do so could result in an unsuccessful warranty claim.
In some cases a POWERFLUSH may be required.
Powerflushing is a process
by which water is pumped through the central heating system at high velocity and low pressure. The effectiveness of the process
is increased by adding chemical cleansing and mobilizing agents. The power flushing unit is connected to the systems flow
and return pipework. The high speed flow generated and the ability to reverse the flow of direction will dislodge deposits
and corrosion.
For continued and effective clean central heating systems, a magnet filter
can be fitted to the system. A magnaclean magnetic filter can be fitted to the return pipework of the system. This will prevent
any magnetic debris from entering the new boiler.
